                Our Core Principle: We believe your documents are your own. That's why 100% of image processing, cropping, and PDF generation happens locally in your browser. We never upload your raw scans to our servers.            

1. Local Processing

Unlike traditional online scanners, ScannerOnline.io uses the power of your device (via JavaScript and WebAssembly) to process images. Your documents remain on your machine unless you explicitly choose to save them to a third-party cloud provider.

2. Google Drive Integration & OAuth

When you use our Google Drive integration, we follow industry-standard security practices:

OAuth Permissions: We use Google OAuth 2.0 to request access to your Google Drive. This means you never provide your Google password to us. You authorize our app directly through Google's secure sign-in page.
Ultra-Limited Access (drive.file scope): We use the most restrictive access scope provided by Google. Our application cannot see, read, or access any of your existing personal files or folders in Google Drive. We only have permission to create a dedicated folder and access files that were specifically created or opened by our website inside that folder only. Your personal data remains entirely invisible to us.
No Storage of Tokens: Your access tokens are handled securely and are primarily used during the active session to perform requested actions.

3. Information We Collect

We collect minimal information to provide you with the best experience:

Authentication Data: When you sign in via Google, we store your basic profile information (Name, Email, Profile Picture) to identify your account and subscription status.
Billing Information:If you purchase a premium subscription, we collect your Name, Billing Address, and Country for invoicing and tax (e.g., GST) purposes. We do not store your credit card or payment details on our servers; these are handled securely by our payment processor (Razorpay).
Usage Analytics: We may use anonymous analytics to understand how users interact with our site, but this never includes your document content.

4. Third-Party Services

While our app runs locally, the use of Google Drive is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review their terms when authorizing the connection.

5. Data Security

Since your documents stay in your browser's memory, they are protected by your device's own security. Once downloaded or saved to Google Drive, the security of that data is managed by you or the cloud provider.
